ART HISTORY- ART MOVEMENTS

Image result for simple art history timeline
Hi kids,
Our new unit of inquiry requires us to explore the world of art far and wide, from past to present.
After brainstorming in the class with your friends we have discovered many different ways in which humans express themselves.
Here were some of your thoughts.

We started our exploration during the last unit in 1800´s France, Impressionism.

We will ask you to explore many different art movements (LOI1).

While gaining information and reviewing the facts, historical and geographical connections we ask that you try to idenify any elements that connect with how you personally express yourself- this will help you to prepare for an upcoming art project for LOI3.
Also, reflect on why you feel connected?
Consider your family heritage, your life experiences, etc.
Please use the following guide below to assist your inquiry and be sure to share any interesting finds with us in class.

Kids, due to unforeseen circumstances we have not been able to attend classes therefore we have missed crucial time which would have been designated to concluding our art history and creative lessons.
We are asking for your cooperation in completing this activity during the week to hand in on Monday as we are leading up to the end of our school year.
  1. Finish your research (so you can do your own work)
  2. Select a movement or a mix of components which you think will help you express yourself.
  3. Create a work that demonstrates all of the characteristics you believe best shows your artistic expression (very personal).
  4.  Reflection- upon finishing you must connect your product with the 3 LOI ́s while mentioning which attributes of the learner profile you focused on.

How to solve Area of Tirangles? (GEOMETRY)

Hey kids,
We are moving beyond calculating area and perimeter of squares, rectangles, parallellograms, and right triangles. Our next task is to to try solve acute and obtuse triuangles as well.
Take a look at the following videos and lets see what we can do!

If I want to solve the area of this Right triangle, I can solve the rectangle first and then divide it equally in 2 parts.
Here was are looking at another type of triangle.
Take a look at the videos to realize why this formula works.
If you are still in doubt, lets cut out some shapes until we can visualize this ourselves.
