WATERCOLOUR FUN

Hey kids,
We have a mini project coming up and here are a few techniques that I would like for you to review or play with at home.
Watercolour is a technique where we use water and if carefully used we can create delicate or highly impactful work.

We would like to make some connections as you express yourself.
Please think about UOI1 Water, UOI2 Natural Resources/Economy/Chile and finally the Ocean (Mes Del Mar). The ocean is super important in Chile as is our long coastline, it provides a huge natural resource that is used to support the economy and livelihood of many.
The month of May is dedicated in Chile to Commemorate The Battle of Iquique.
  Look at the ocean, find images, be inspired.
Here are a few techniques that we would like for you to try to somehow include in your art to enhance in your work.
 I promise we will make beautiful work and have a lot of fun!!

1. blowing

IMPORT- EXPORT... SUPPLY & DEMAND

Hey kids,
  We have been working on our Lines Of Inquiry and the words import/export have become very important points of discussion including supply and demand, need vs want.

Work Shadow Experience

Hey kids, 
This WEDNESDAY you will take a day out of normal classroom learning and follow a parent or friend ¨on the job¨.


You will take this learning opportunity to connect our classroom learning and apply it to real life. 
*Meet new people!
*Get involved as much as you can! 
*Be confident, ask questions, be helpful, take notes and be ready to share on return. Think about your future!

Parents, God parents, aunties, uncles, friends, whomever will recieve our students please know this is not a ´free day´.
*This is a fantastic opportunity to provide insight as to what a certain job or profession might entail (insight for the future).
*Highlight skills that would be valuable such as teamwork, punctuality, respect, etc.
*When ok, welcome the student to take part, observe, participate.
*Meet and greet a variety to team members that are required to fulfill operations (employees with different job titles are needed to make the whole company function).

Natural Resources in Chile

Hey kids,
  Here is a review after some of our work in the lab and in class with our Zig Zag Atlas.

*Reading material  includes texts in both English and Spanish.* (Any work you do in or out of class must be complete in English.)

Here are a few questions to think about as you read and review....
1. What natural resources are available in Chile?
2. How does climate and geography support the existence of those resources?
